Tutor's Profile

Hi! I’m Brittany, a state licensed K-6 teacher from New Jersey in the United States. I have 6 years of experience as an online ESL and ELA teacher for students ages 3-18. I have taught both one-on-one and group lessons to children from the United States, China, Indonesia, and Central Europe. Prior to that, I worked on the Chegg Tutors platform, where I spent 3 years virtually tutoring elementary, middle school, and high school students in math, science, social studies, reading, and writing. In addition, I am a skilled classroom teacher, having worked for 6 years as a substitute teacher in a public elementary school (K-4). In this position, I implemented teachers' lesson plans in elementary math, language arts, social studies, and science. My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and energetic. I encourage students to participate often and give specific corrections. I use high energy and engaging digital materials, tailoring each lesson to students' individual interests and learning styles. When I’m not teaching, you will probably find me onstage. I’m a professional actor and singer, who loves musical theatre. I also enjoy traveling, spending time with friends and family, reading and listening to podcasts. I can’t wait to see you in the classroom!
